Contestants come together for the Junior Star Singer 2017 Final

After much eager anticipation the Junior Star Singer Final 2017 finally arrived on Sunday November 12th with finalists from all over the UK participating in a magnificent final.

Junior Star Singer Songwriter is a radio tour competition for young artists where singers and songwriters compete for the chance to have their song recorded by a top record producer and have it played over the 20 radio stations the following year. They also receive media interviews, and the opportunity to perform at the Regional Youth Music Awards infront of thousands of guests at a hotel in Bristol.  The competition begins every April and continues until December with a final to wow all finalists held in a chosen recording studio by founder and presenter Amanda Neale.

This year contestants from as far as Cardiff and even down the coast of Southampton came together at Soundbox Studios to compete for the one prize.  Contestants were even mentored by Amanda Neale for an outstanding JSS warm up.....take a sneak look at this.........

There was a lot of stretching, breathing and harmonising going on.......and that's even before they knew their chosen track!  The finalists were remarkable even from the start.

The final was split into two sections. In the first section, the contestants were first interviewed by Amanda Neale and co-presenter Rachael Summers. In the second section, contestants had to prove themselves by singing one of two tracks chosen by Amanda.  The tracks for this year's final were 'Too Good at Goodbyes' by Sam Smith and 'What about us' by Pink.  Contestants were split into two groups and mentored for twenty minutes by Rachael Summers and artist Teide Bryce who tours this year with JSS and also is Junior Judge for Junior Star Singer Europe 2018.  The heat was definitely on and tension filled the air as the young budding artists prepared their songs for their once in a lifetime opportunity.

The winner for Junior Star Singer Songwriter Radio Tour 2017 will be announced on the website before Christmas Day.  Judges Richard Hadfield, previous Britain's Got Talent winner, Junior Judge Georgia Lois and producer Anthony Goldsbrough will decide on who goes through to win this great opportunity.  Good luck contestants!!!!
